Organics

This course provides a fundamental understanding of to the organic fraction of the waste stream which comprises a third of all disposed materials. Describe which fractions of the waste stream are organic, the various options for diverting organics from the waste stream, and the basic process of composting. Students will understand the basic requirements of organics collection programs and review how the composting process works on a large scale and in practice.
